Spanish Verb 'To Be'
There are two verbs to be in Spanish : ser and estar.
The present tense is as follows :
Ser indicates an inherent quality, a permanent state or characteristic, something which is unlikely to change.
Ser is also used with occupations, nationalities, the time and to indicate possession.
Estar is used for temporary qualities, for things which could change.
Estar is also used to indicate position and situation.
