Spanish Adjectives

Adjectives must agree in gender and number with the noun they refer to.

In the dictionary, all adjectives are given in the masculine singular.

The feminine singular of the adjective is formed by changing the masculine endings as follows :

masculine feminine
-o-a
-or-ora
-Ús-esa

For other types of adjectives, the feminine forms are the same as the masculine.

Unlike English, Spanish adjectives usually follow the noun.

The plurals of adjectives are formed in the same way as the plural of nouns, by adding an -s.
